Goin’ away to MAX

by Joseph Lowery

Greetings from sunny San Francisco, where Adobe MAX 2008 is just getting underway. It’s been a big travel weekend for me. Late on Friday, my daughter and I flew from our home in New York City to Portland, Maine for one of our last college visits. It was worth the trip and Bates College moved into the #2 slot for possibles.

As I was flying into SF yesterday, I started thinking about the parallels between going to MAX and going off to college. The comparison holds up pretty well. In both cases, you have folks coming together to gain knowledge, meet their peers and attend wild and exuberant celebrations. Especially that last part.

WebAssist is all over MAX. Justin Nemeth, one of our leading software engineers, is leading a hands-on lab on creating desktop apps with Dreamweaver CS4 and AIR. I’m giving another lab on CS4 Web Workflow. Another of our senior engineers, Danilo Celic, is roaming the MAX halls, talking to attendees and soaking up some info. Our president, Hieu Bui, is also on the scene to meet with several Adobe higher-ups and check out the innovations coming down the pike.

And we’re all looking forward to getting together with a few WebAssist customers who are at MAX or in the SF area. If you’d like to hang out with us and share your thoughts and wishes, join us at Bar 888 in the InterContinental Hotel at 6pm this evening (Monday). All are welcome.
